Malone Group is a proud member of Hydrogen Ireland and attended the inaugural H2IRL held in Dublin on 22nd and 23rd Nov 2022.
The event was attended by over 350 people representing all areas of the energy industry. Minister Eamon Ryan made the key-note address where he highlighted the key role hydrogen will play in supporting the Irish off shore wind plans. We will await the imminent release of the Government’s Hydrogen strategy by the Department of the Environment, Climate and Communications
A number of key take-aways from the conference were
· We must start now and must learn by doing
· A clear hydrogen policy must support this embryonic industry
· Collaboration between developers, end users and engineering is essential
As the world faces continued climate change and energy challenges, it is clear that hydrogen will be part of the green energy solution. Hydrogen can be used to provide long term energy storage, long range heavy goods transport solutions, reduce green energy curtailment. Hydrogen is not a silver bullet but it will be part of the new energy mix that supports our imminent need to decarbonise our human activity.
