Malone Group, in partnership with Smurfit Kappa and Engineers Ireland, has developed and is currently delivering a real-time virtual learning programme for the Smurfit Kappa Engineering Academy. The programme consists of 10 modules taken over 12 months, and provides those participating with an in-depth knowledge of condition monitoring and a path towards a recognised engineering qualification. The Academy provides the expertise and knowledge to assist the company’s reliability focussed strategy of moving towards a predictive maintenance approach.
The programme, open to all Smurfit Kappa engineering personnel, addresses traditional condition monitoring, as well as the highly advanced AI powered, cloud based Predictive Maintenance solution Smurfit Kappa has recently installed, to great success, on a number of their UK sites.
Dr Steven Parr Smurfit Kappa Engineering Director, created the Academy to help develop expertise and capability in the engineering team across the UK, while also providing them with a path towards a globally recognised professional title. Engineers Ireland, the body responsible for awarding engineering titles in Ireland, was the ideal partner for this upskilling and professional development programme.
Phil Clulow, the MD of Malone Group UK, recently stated ‘the Academy offers a unique opportunity for participants to network with colleagues from other Smurfit Kappa sites to gain insights, and to participate in discussions with leaders in the condition monitoring field.’
