Our customer had developed a proof of concept pilot plant to convert dairy waste into high purity, high quality lactic acid. This lactic acid has many uses including as a primary feedstock for bioplastics production. Malone Group’s role was to complete the detailed design for the upscaling of this pilot plant to a commercial sized demonstrator plant. The scope included full process, utilities, electrical and controls design. We managed the full procurement and pricing process to develop a full cost model for the installation of the demonstrator plant.
